Wayne Goss is a world-renowned makeup artist from the United Kingdom, and an active Youtuber since 2009. His understated, calming air and exceptional skills as an artist have gained him a following of more than 4 million dedicated fans on Youtube, including myself. I’ve always admired his humility and honesty as a creator and have come to trust his opinions.
Goss launched his first collection of makeup brushes in 2013—they sold out in minutes. Made of natural fibers, the brushes met with rave reviews. The price point, though more reasonable than many other brands, was still quite high for many of his viewers, and Goss recognized this; finally, this year, he released the White Gold Collection, ultra-soft synthetic brushes that feel luxurious to use. I had the pleasure of testing out the products.
The brushes come individually, or as a face set and a brush set–or, you can also purchase the entire collection of 15. I love the classy white and gold (hence the name) coloring of the brushes and the fact that they feel substantial but not at all heavy. The price point of these brushes is competitive, too, ranging from $10 to $28.
I’ve been loving using these whenever I do my makeup–I didn’t even know there were nine different types of eye brushes! The bristles are super soft and blend both liquids and powders seamlessly. My favorites so far are the #3 Blusher Brush and #7 Hooded Eye Brush. I’d recommend these to anyone looking for a set of trustworthy makeup brushes that will not put you in unnecessary debt, but are also a bit more elevated than something you’d find at the drugstore. Now, I can’t wait to try the natural fiber brushes.
