NOFLEX for a Taste of Seoul Food & More

NOFLEX is eye-catching in every way imaginable. Its exterior on Fifth Avenue near 30th Street features a light display of dolphins in motion, hinting at the creative light displays within. Reminiscent of Seoul’s lively Gangham district, NOFLEX is billed as New York’s first Media Art Lounge.

As a site for parties, it’s ideal because it has semi-private upstairs balcony seating, a spacious bar area, subdued and ultra-creative lighting, dance music, a wall of modern artwork, and generous tables for spreading out. You won’t feel rushed at NOFLEX, so you can settle in for an evening of fun, deep discussions, or both.

The menu is extensive and surprisingly affordable for New York City and Manhattan. NOFLEX presents a “New Korean Menu” that artfully blends Japanese, Chinese, and Western culinary influences with a Korean foundation. The result is delicious!

Here are some of the items you can expect to see on the menu. Know ahead of time that you should order multiple options all at once:


KKOCHI/ all are grilled over charcoal with homemade teriyaki sauce, and there is something for every tastebud and diet:
Chicken Thighs (highly recommend!), Berkshire Pork Belly, Bacon Wrapped Asparagus, Bacon Wrapped Enoki Mushrooms, Enoki mushrooms wrapped in bacon, Mini King Oyster Mushroom, Asparagus, scallion, Shishamo – grilled smelt.
Kkochi Combo: Chicken Thighs + Berkshire Pork Belly + Bacon Wrapped Asparagus + Bacon Wrapped Enoki Mushrooms + Mini King Oyster Mushroom + Grilled Asparagus + Grilled Scallion + Shishamo

HAND ROLL – these are seaweed wraps and incredibly flavorful:
Marinated Shrimp in house-made soy sauce with ginger, chive, seaweed, and rice.
Bluefin Tuna Toro with special house sauce and rice wrapped in seaweed.
Soft shell Crab with spicy mayo, wrapped in seaweed.
Octopus Wasabi with Yuzu Tobiko, chive, wrapped in seaweed.
Grilled Eel with pickled ginger, wrapped in seaweed.
Hand Roll Combo = Marinated Shrimp + Bluefin Tuna + Softshell Crab + Octopus Wasabi + Grilled Eel

For the Mains below, I highly recommend the Black Cod with Miso Sauce below because it’s incredibly fresh, unbelievably tender, and ultra-flavorful.

TAPAS
Hand-Rolled Cigar Rolls – Ground beef and shrimp with truffle aioli.
Sodduk Sodduk – Korean spicy sauce with Kurobuta sausage and Korean rice cake.
Shrimp Cocktail – Six pieces of shrimp with cocktail sauce.
Spicy Boneless Fried Chicken – Double-fried Korean fried chicken glazed with special house-made spicy sauce.
Soy Garlic Boneless Fried Chicken – Double-fried Korean fried chicken glazed with special house-made soy garlic sauce.
Seafood POTATO Okonomiyaki – Mixed seafood with black mayonnaise and shaved bonito.
Korean Spicy Rice Cake – rice cake with spicy Korean sauce, onion, scallions, topped with a hard-boiled egg, kimmari, and mozzarella cheese.
Mentaiko Tamagoyaki – Mentaiko with pan-fried egg and scallions.
Sweet Potato Fries – Sweet potato fries with Parmesan cheese and truffle aioli.
