“Ok, found my duffle. Now the question is: How do I get it out?” – Hallie Parker, The Parent Trap
If you’re a fan of Nancy Meyers’ 1998 masterpiece (that’s right, I said it), then you need this weekender bag. While it’s not Hallie’s signature Camp Walden yellow and black bag, this Coastal Cowboy Duffle is a blend of everything the movie represents: California cool and classic feminine chic. My millennial heart is bursting with good feels.
Imagine the cutest baby blue bag you’ve ever seen, one that’s classy, practical and highly functional (unlike me, most days). This bag has become my go-to for the past month, even without knowing it was inspired by my favorite childhood film. Forget childhood, it’s one of my favorite films, period.
With dimensions of 18″ long, 11″ deep, and 12″ wide, it offers ample space to fit everything you need for a few days away. Clothes, toiletries, accessories – it can fit all your essentials (get their matching toile bag, too). The exterior and interior pockets include two side zip pockets, two velcro pockets and one interior zip pocket, allowing for easy organization of your belongings. The removable shoulder strap provides added convenience, giving you the option to carry it hands-free and who doesn’t need that?
Now, let’s get to the fun part – the design. This duffle features plush quilting detail and sleek gold hardware that shouts elegance. With a baby blue gingham interior, it’s even more adorable on the inside. You’ll be asked, “Where did you get that bag?” Answer: Coastal Cowboy. Founded by Alicia von der Lieth, the lifestyle brand is inspired by her rich personal history and diverse cultural influences being raised in Northern California (“which is nowhere near Hollywood,” sorry, I’ll stop with The Parent Trap references) with cherished visits to her uncle’s cattle ranch. Now a Tennessee resident, she created a brand that is a blend of all her worlds – and we get to benefit from it.
I highly recommend this cute duffle (which, worth noting, is compliant with airlines as an under-the-seat item) for your next trip. Napa, California, anyone? Stafford Hotel in San Francisco? Seven Pembroke Lane? The options are endless. Ok, I lied. I wasn’t done with The Parent Trap references.
