With spring daylight savings comes longer days and more sun, but we lose an hour of everyone’s favorite activity: sleep. I’ve already been reaping the benefits of much-needed Vitamin D for the past few days, but the time change always seems to take a toll on my nighttime schedule. It’s apt that the National Sleep Foundation kicked off Sleep Awareness Week on March 10, opening up a broader conversation about bedtime habits.
There’s no better time to retire the flat pillow you’ve had for years and finally upgrade your bedding. Here are two of my favorite products to get a good night’s rest.
The Evercool Cooling Comforter from Rest
If you’re a hot sleeper, you know what it’s like to wake up in the morning, drenched in sweat. That was me—I like the feeling of blankets when I sleep, but duvets tend to trap way too much heat, especially in the spring and summer.
The Evercool Cooling Comforter is my new go-to for the warmer months. The innovative fabric is cool to the touch, more than cotton or silk, but it’s still super soft and lightweight. It’s also temperature-regulating and moisture-wicking, making it perfect for anyone prone to sweating. I can confirm that sleeping with this is the most comfortable experience, and you don’t even need a duvet cover.
Rest is having a sale for Sleep Week, so the comforter is currently $155.35 for the full/queen size (originally $239). It also comes in 5 colors to fit any bedroom aesthetic. If you’ve missed the sale, don’t worry—Rest is running a Sleep Awareness Initiative until November 2024. Over the next few months, they’ll hold webinars with sleep experts, offer discounts on select products, and release limited-run colorways.
The FluffBase Eucalyptus Pillow from Sijo
I own a flat pillow (no shame if you do, too) but it was starting to give me neck pain. I knew I needed to find a solid replacement, and the FluffBase Eucalyptus Pillow checked all the right boxes.
It’s made with eucalyptus fibers, a down alternative, making it a sustainable option that is both hypoallergenic and anti-microbial. It’s also moisture-wicking, so both sides are always cool. I’ve used this pillow for the last month and resting my head on it after a long day feels like lying on a cloud. I also haven’t woken up with any neck pain. Pair it with your favorite pillowcase, and you’re off to dreamland.
Sijo is having a Sleep Awareness Week sale, so everything on their site is 15% off. The FluffBase pillow is currently $59.50 (originally $70) and comes in “soft” and “medium firm.”
